Your local Childminder...

For the event of an emergency JIGSAW has developed the following procedure to evacuate our home in order to keep the children in our care safe from harm.
An emergency might be as a result of a fire, flooding, gas leak etc.

We regularly practice the evacuation procedure with the children so they will not be alarmed in the event of a situation arising. To ensure all children experience evacuation they will be carried out on different days of the week. All the details are then recorded in our evacuation log.

In the event of an emergency our evacuation procedure is as follows: Rise the alarm (unless the automated system has already been activated)Evacuate the children using the ground floor exits either via the lounge on main entrance (Babies and toddlers will be carried to safety)The childminder should bring: Parents or guardians’ contact numbers, Record of Attendance for that day & a mobile phoneAssemble at the end of the garden (Corner of Belmont Ave & Ferris Ave)Contact the emergency services (999)Reassure the childrenMove the children to safe place to stay until parents can collect themReview record of Attendance for that day and ensure everyone is safeContact parents and inform them of the situationFollow the guidance of the Emergency ServicesUntil the Emergency Services have declared it safe to do so, do not return to the building
